Bollywood actress Kumkum died at the age of 86: Insidious news is coming once again from the corridors of Bollywood. She had acted in about 115 films. Legendary actress Kumkum, who has worked in films like Mother India, Kohinoor, Ek Sapera, has passed away. The actress was 86 years old.
The death of the actress has been given by Johnny Walker’s son Nasir Khanan on his Twitter handle. However, neither Nasir has written anything about how the actress died and no information has been revealed so far.

Nasir shared a photo of Johnnie Walker and Kumkum on his Twitter account, with which he wrote, “The old-fashioned film actress Kumkum Aunty passed away, she was 86 years old.” He worked in many films, many songs were filmed on him, he danced in many songs. He also did several films opposite Papa Johnny Walker.

Kumkum has worked in more than 100 films in her Bollywood career. He is remembered for his brilliant performances in Mr. X in Bombay (1964), Mother India (1957), Son of India (1962), Kohinoor (1960), Ujala, Naya Daur, Sriman Funtush, Ek Sapera Ek Lootera.
Kumkum had worked with many stars of her era, including Kishore Kumar and Guru Dutt. Kumkum had a brilliant performance in the first Bhojpuri film ‘Ganga Maiya Tohe Piyari Chadibo’ (1963).
Gurudutt gave the first break
Kumkum was born in the highly revered Nawab family of Hussainabad, Bihar. Her real name was Jabunnisa. She first appeared in the 1954 song ‘Arpar’ in the song Kabhi Ar Kabhi Paar Laga Tire Nazar. Gurudutt is credited with bringing him into the industry.
Filming of the song was earlier to be done on Naved Jaffrey’s father Jagdeep, but it was Gurudutt Saheb who decided to film it on a woman. Because no major artist was ready to sing a small song at the time, it was shot with Kumkum.
Acted in more than a hundred films
Kumkum did the most films during the 50s to 60s. In his career of nearly 20 years, he acted in more than hundred films. He worked with many big stars including Gurudutt, Kishore Kumar, Dilip Kumar, Devanand.
Mr. X in Bombay, Mother India, Son of India, Kohinoor, Ujala, Naya Daur, Shriman Funtoosh, Ek Sapera Ek Lootera, Ganga waves, Raja and Ranka, Aankhen, Galkar, Geet and Ek Kunvara-Ek virgin is his famous films.
